KEPServerEX version 5.19, featuring IoT Gateway
Kepware Releases New Internet of Things Solution, Streams Industrial Data into Cloud IoT Gateway for KEPServerEX provides enterprise business systems with access to real-time data from industrial equipment.
Text from Kepware's press release Oct 20th:
Kepware Technologies, a software development company focused on communications for automation, today announced the release of the IoT Gateway for KEPServerEX® version 5.19. Built to support Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) deployments, the IoT Gateway streams real-time machine and sensor data into cloud-based software platforms for real-time analytics.
“This new technology will help organizations extract business insights and even create new service-based revenue streams from previously untapped machine data,” said Tony Paine, CEO, Kepware. “The IoT Gateway allows us to extract even greater value from the data that KEPServerEX is already collecting. Furthermore, we believe this technology has the potential to help bridge the long-standing gap between Operations Technology and Information Technology.”
By leveraging the more than 150 communication protocols supported by the KEPServerEX platform, the IoT Gateway is able to stream data from thousands of industrial sensors and machines to cloud-based Big Data and analytics software applications. It also supports customizable data formats to ensure compatibility with most MQTT and REST applications.
“By collaborating closely with Kepware and utilizing the IoT Gateway as a hub for real-time machine communication, we are able to connect the shop floor to the data center and see the full potential of the Industrial Internet of Things,” said Chris Misztur, Developer, MacLean-Fogg. “Real-time analytics are helping us eliminate waste, improve process stability, and focus on innovation.”
Utilizing open-source, standards-based communications, Kepware’s IoT Gateway enables users to choose vendors and communication methodologies based on their unique organizational needs. With a plug-in architecture, it is a cost-effective, intuitive, and highly scalable solution that can facilitate significant cost savings, improved customer service, smarter automation, and increased visibility across global operations.
In addition to the IoT Gateway, KEPServerEX version 5.19 also features support for Windows 10 and includes key driver updates (such as enhancements to the ODBC Client driver and support for Allen-Bradley firmware versions 26 and 27).
