TPG to Acquire PTC’s Kepware and ThingWorx Businesses
What This Means for the Future of Industrial Connectivity
This week, PTC announced a definitive agreement under which TPG will acquire its Kepware and ThingWorx businesses, two of the most recognized and widely adopted platforms in the industrial connectivity and IoT space.

The transaction is designed to give Kepware and ThingWorx additional capital and resources to accelerate growth, while allowing PTC to sharpen its focus on its Intelligent Product Lifecycle vision, expanding its leadership in CAD, PLM, ALM, and SLM solutions.
From our perspective at Novotek, this is an exciting and strategically sound move. Kepware and ThingWorx have long played a critical role in bridging the gap between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT), enabling manufacturers to connect assets, gather insights, and optimize performance at scale.
As part of TPG, these technologies are set to gain even more momentum. With fresh investment and focus, we anticipate faster innovation cycles, expanded integration opportunities, and continued leadership in open connectivity standards.
For our customers, this development reinforces the importance of building a future-ready industrial architecture, one that is flexible, interoperable, and powered by real-time data. Whether it’s through PTC’s expanding SaaS and AI-driven product lifecycle solutions or the next generation of ThingWorx and Kepware capabilities, the path forward is clear: connected manufacturing is the foundation of intelligent industry.
We look forward to continuing to work closely with both PTC and the new Kepware and ThingWorx organizations as they evolve, ensuring that our customers continue to benefit from the strongest, most innovative ecosystem in industrial technology.
